According to some leaked data posted to TMoNews, T-Mobile is preparing to impose new caps on data roaming starting April 5. According to leaked employee memos, customers roaming outside of T-Mobile s data network will be notified via text message when they have reach both 80% and 100% of their allotted domestic roaming data. T-Mobile's 5 GB plan now comes with a 100 MB off network roaming cap, and their 10 GB plan now comes with a 200 MB off network roaming cap. Unlike normal T-Mobile caps where the customer is throttled, in this case T-Mobile will cut off any and all data service until connection to Wi-Fi is made. T-Mobile insists that "very few customers use enough domestic data while roaming on other carriers' networks to be impacted."
